Today’s readings: Hosea 6-9, Hebrews 3
13 ?But exhort one another daily, While it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Heb. 3:13
Thank God I have some dear friends who watch out for my soul. They love me enough to walk with me and during the journey and care enough to “exhort” or encourage me. They don’t let me simply walk into sin. If they see me doing something wrong they tell me. If I am doing right they encourage me. Wow!
They do this for me today. Today is the chance to do this. I don’t know how long I will live. Only God knows that kind of detail. He is encouraging me today to make full use of my time with the people that I love for it may be their last day. Marvin Blackwell died yesterday. He intended to live much longer.
Sin steals life from us. Sin hardens the soul. It seems fair and fun yet it lies. It promises much yet yields nothing. One sin always prepares your heart for another one confirming the habit searing the conscience.
To enjoy fellowship with one another is to have a group around you who loves to share life with you. They journey with you and are aware of your strengths and weaknesses. They warn you when trouble is seen and encourage you to keep up your good works, love God, love your family, stay true to your commitments, etc. Oh, the pure joy of the wisdom of God in providing us with people who love us like that.
Thank you Nancy, Fred, Smith, Sandifer, Collins, Wayne and Inabinet. Our times together are fruitful and my life is so much better because of our relationship and friendship. I did not know what it meant to me to have friends like Tony, Mark, Todd, and Earl who spend a lot of time being friends to me. I am one more blessed person. What a blessing my staff is to me. They pray for me everyday and love and support my life. God is so good.
