A little child got up in her mother’s lap one evening.
She said, “Mother, what’s in your heart”? Mother with
a twinkle in her eye said, “Darling, look into my eyes
and you’ll see what’s in my heart.” The little girl
looked into her mother’s eyes and when she did, she
saw the reflection of herself from the pupils of her
mother’s eyes. She said, “Oh, mother, I see what’s in
your heart. Mother, there’s a little girl in your
heart and that little girl is me.”
You and I say, “Oh, God, what’s in your heart”? God
says, “Look.” We look and we say, “Oh, God, there’s a
sinner in your heart and that sinner is me.” Christ
has taken those of us who were infinite distance from
God and he has made us nigh by His blood.
